• Food/Pharmaceutical    • Chemical     • Mining/Minerals     • Biomass to Ethanol     • Wastewater Chemical Applications Filtering, optional washing, and dewatering/drying of chemical products are easily performed with a Pneumapress® filter. The filter provides the highest production rate per unit filter area in the industry along with the driest cake and highest recovery of filtered liquid available. A Pneumapress® filter may be used for elements, hydroxides, sulfides, oxides, specialty compounds, PCC and precipitates of all kinds. Application Example: In the geothermal mining process, Pneumapress® filters are used to filter, wash and dewater a very hot and corrosive silica slurry that is supersaturated with chloride salts. The slurry is taken from the underflow of a clarifier essential to the crystallization/clarification and solids handling process. Because of its corrosive nature the slurry must be filtered, washed and dewatered before it can be sent to a landfill for disposal.
